Traffic was queueing on the M6 southbound in Cheshire for nine miles this morning, following a collision involving multiple vehicles.
All four lanes are now open, but National Highways North-west are warning of seven miles of congestion between J17, Sandbach and J16, Stoke on Trent, and recommend travellers allow time for this to clear.
All traffic was stopped for around 25 minutes after the collision, but three of the four lanes were open by 7.40am.
National Highways North-west said: “Recovery has now been completed and all lanes are now open on the M6 southbound, between J17 Sandbach, and J16, Stoke on Trent. There is seven miles of congestion following this incident so please allow time for these delays to clear.”
