ALL lanes have now re-opened on the M6 northbound in Cheshire.
Traffic had been brought to a standstill between junction 18 for Middlewich and junction 19 at the Tabley Interchange due to debris on the carriageway.
It is believed that nuts and bolts were littering the motorway.
Traffic officers have now cleared the spillage.
National Highways say there is still five miles of congestion causing delays of around 30 minutes.
