FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a fire in a Northwich rugby club building in Winnington this afternoon, Wednesday, which is believed to have been a deliberate attack.
At 3.50pm, fire crews from Tarporley and Chester attended near Moss Farm Leisure Complex in Moss Lane.
They found a blaze in what they originally thought was a 'disused building'.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: "Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
"Police were asked to attend as it is believed the fire in the building - measuring approximately 20 metres by five metres - was started deliberately.
"A fire investigation officer will also attend."
