FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house fire in Northwich last night, Monday, caused by an incense burner left unattended in a bedroom.
Two fire crews – from Northwich and Winsford – were called to Drillfield Road shortly after 10.21pm.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “They found there had been a fire in the first-floor bedroom involving what initially appeared to be unattended candles on a cupboard.
“The immediate area was checked with a thermal imaging camera and a high-pressure fan was used to clear smoke.
“The second floor and loft were also checked.
“Following a fire investigation, the cause was found to be an incense burner left unattended.
"Please follow our candle safety advice.”
