WINSFORD’S official calendar for 2023 is out now, and includes unique pictures of the town ‘from above and below'.

Created and published by the Friends of Winsford Town Park, the new calendar features an aerial view of the town taken by local flier Mark Meadows, a view from deep below ground of the Winsford rock salt mine, and photos of well-known Winsford places by local photographer Donna Long.

Profits will go towards maintaining Winsford Town Park, though 20 per cent will be donated to the Friend's charity partner, St Luke's Hospice.

Chairman of Friends of Winsford Town Park, Cllr John Malam, said: “The Winsford calendar is very much a local initiative.

“It’s a community project with striking photos of Winsford, and has been designed here in Winsford by the NeuroMuscular Centre’s Design and Print Team.

“We’ve had 1,000 copies printed, and we’re expecting it to sell-out in the run up to Christmas.

“This year’s calendar has something else, too.

“Wickes Winsford is offering a five percent discount on all in-store purchases, including kitchens and bathrooms, made at the Winsford branch in 2023, on production of the money-off coupon printed on the front cover of the calendar.

“As well as this incredibly generous offer from Wickes, the Friends are also grateful to local Winsford businesses who have sponsored the calendar.

“Their support helps us to keep our costs down and maintain the same price for the calendar as we have had since we began publishing it four years ago.

“We couldn’t have done it without them, and we are grateful to them all for their support.”

The Friends of Winsford Town Park was established in 2018 to help make Winsford Town Park an attractive space for the community to enjoy.

Volunteers help to maintain planted areas and general tidiness, carry out litter picks, stage ‘Party in the Park’, and support other groups in their use of the space.
