A MAN who pleaded guilty to running a cannabis farm from his garage has been sent to crown court for sentencing.
Simon Lightfoot, of Melchett Crescent, Northwich, appeared before Chester Magistrates on Friday, October 21, after admitting one count of producing the controlled class B drug, and one count of supplying.
The court heard while raiding the 35-year-old’s address, Cheshire Police officers discovered eight large cannabis plants and 12 small ones in a sectioned-off area of his garage.
The prosecution estimated the street value of the crop was £13,840, enough for 692 standard deals.
They also found two mobile phones at the property, containing messages that suggest he was supplying the drugs.
The case was sent to crown court for sentencing at the request of Lightfoot’s solicitor, who stated his client’s case may benefit from a full pre-sentence report.
Lightfoot was given unconditional bail until his sentence hearing at Chester Crown Court on Friday, November 18, at 9.30am.
