A TEENAGER from Winsford has been locked up after stabbing an 18-year-old boy and sharing a sexual photo of a 17-year-old girl.
Matthew Cook, of Dunkirk Avenue, appeared in Chester Crown Court on October 6 charged with wounding with intent, possession of a knife and also disclosing private, sexual photographs.
The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges.
The offences related to an incident on January 22 earlier this year when Cook stabbed the 18-year-old in a Winsford street, leaving him needing to go to hospital having suffered serious injuries.
On the same day he subsequently disclosed a private, sexual photograph without the permission of the 17-year-old girl, intending to cause them distress.
Judge Stephen Everett committed Cook to a young offender institution for a total of 39 months.
He also made Cook subject to two restraining orders to prohibit him from contacting the person whose private photograph he disclosed, and the individual he wounded.
Judge Everett ordered for the forfeiture and destruction of the knife and told Cook to pay a £34 surcharge.
Editor’s note: This article originally incorrectly stated Matthew Cook had stabbed his victim six times and had been found with a knife on his arrest. In fact Cook had stabbed his victim three times and the knife was later handed in to police. The initial article was based on information provided to us by official sources and used in good faith. Once we were made aware of the inaccurate information the article was updated accordingly with the correct details, however we would like to apologise for any offence or distress this has caused.
