A PHOTO has been shared revealing the extent of a fire which ripped through a car on the M6 this afternoon, Wednesday.
Two fire engines from Middlewich and Congleton fire stations rushed to the motorway at around 2pm.
The fire involving a saloon car was reported on the northbound carriageway on the exit slip road at junction 18 for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel.
It was ‘well alight’ when firefighters arrived at the scene, however the occupants of the vehicle were all able to get out safely.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
The vehicle was then damped down and a thermal imaging camera was used to check there was no further heat spread.
