A 33-YEAR-OLD man from Winsford has been handed a restraining order after harassing a woman by making unwanted phone calls and sending an offensive message.
Kallum Scott, of Ribble Place, appeared in Warrington Magistrates’ Court on October 14 where he pleaded guilty to sending an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message, plus harassment without violence.
The offences date back to May 28 of this year, when Scott sent an offensive message.
Between this date and May 29, Scott also harassed a woman in Winsford by making repeated unwanted phone calls and sending text messages to her.
Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates fined Scott £500 and ordered him to pay £250 in compensation.
He is also subject to a year-long restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the woman he harassed.
This sentence comes after a suspended sentence was imposed on Scott on September 1 at Crewe Magistrates’ Court for burglary.
On August 12, Scott had stolen computer tablets worth £3,460 from Willow Wood Community Primary School in Bradbury Road.
On this occasion, Scott was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, but suspended for 18 months, and was also told to pay £100 in compensation.
He was made subject to alcohol abstinence and monitoring for 120 days, as well as a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 20 days.
