A 39-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed after stealing joints of meat and alcohol during a week-long crime spree in Northwich.
Adele Fowles, of Victoria House in Church Road, Northwich, stole items from Tesco and Asda stores in the town on four separate occasions.
She was jailed at Chester Magistrates’ Court on October 4 for the offences.
The court heard Fowles’ theft spree began on July 2 of this year when she stole three joints of lamb and three joints of beef to the value of £75 from Asda.
A few days later, on July 6, she stole three bottles of Smirnoff Vodka, to the value of £63, belonging to Tesco.
The next day, Fowles returned to Asda and stole one joint of lamb, to the value of £17.
Magistrates were told there was a break in Fowles’ offending, before she entered a Tesco store on September 23 and stole various goods and products to the value of £81.38, described by the court as a ‘trolley dash’.
During this time, Fowles has failed to comply with supervision requirements imposed on her following a release from prison.
Taking her guilty plea to all offences into account, magistrates sentenced the defendant to nine weeks in prison.
On top of this, Fowles must pay £154 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
