A TEENAGER from Weaverham has been banned from the roads for drug driving on a moped.
Callum Wright, of Forster Avenue in Weaverham, pleaded guilty to the offence dating back to April of this year.
The 19-year-old appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on October 4 to be sentenced.
The court heard how Wright had been riding a black moped along Wallerscote Road in Weaverham on April 12.
Wright was also found in possession of cannabis, with a product of the drug (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)) in his system.
Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates fined the teenager £120 and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
He will need to pay a further £120 in court costs and a £48 surcharge.
The cannabis will be forfeited and destroyed.
