THERE are long delays on the M6 this afternoon, Wednesday, after an air ambulance was called to a ‘medical episode’ on the carriageway.
At around 4.30pm, traffic was held in both directions between junction 18 for Holmes Chapel and junction 19 for Knutsford.
Highways England confirmed this was due to ‘an incident resulting in a medical episode’ and an air ambulance was called to the scene.
Shorty before 5pm, all traffic was released southbound after the air ambulance departed, with one lane now remaining closed on the northbound carriageway.
There are delays of one hour travelling northbound with approximately eight miles of congestion.
