A SOCIAL housing worker is calling time on a 40-year career which has seen her make a difference in the lives of dozens of Cheshire residents.
Judith Burbidge, of Northwich, is stepping down as the director of neighbourhoods and customer services at the Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
The mum-of-two, who also has a granddaughter, is now looking forward to spending time with her family.
She said: "I grabbed every opportunity that came my way to learn and develop my career.
"Knowing I was making a positive difference in the lives of people every day, helping new customers to turn their lives around and secure a safe place to call home, and working with brilliant teams at Weaver Vale meant I loved my job.
"I’m excited about the future but Weaver Vale will always be in my heart."
Judith began her career as a housing officer at Lambeth Council before moving to Cheshire, where she spent the last 25 years working at the Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
She added: "Having a home is the foundation for people to build a bright future and have a good quality of life.
"Over the years at the trust, we’ve enabled engaged customers to become critical friends.
"We’re now at a point where we have a good, healthy debate at board meetings with tenants.
"It demonstrates our commitment to the values of openness, respect and trust. I’m proud of how our social values come through in all the work we do."
Trust chief executive Wayne Gales said: “Judith’s commitment, hard work, passion and influence have helped shape the trust and defined what we stand for today.
"She has helped transform the trust, putting customers at the heart of all we do."
