BARNTON Football Club have unveiled a charity kit which has been created in support of causes that the club are backing this season.
Commercial manager Paul Bazley said: “It was a concept first devised by our club chairman Dave Bryning.
“His idea was to release a shirt that was not only striking by design but also would help promote worthy causes that the football club support, namely Alder Hey, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), Tiny Steps and the Cheshire-based mental health charity Mind Body & Sole.”
The decision to go with a silver grey colour for the shirt was made after mixing the home colours black and white together, hence the promotional tagline ‘More Than a Black and White Town’.
They have also complimented the shirt with purple shorts, the colour affiliated with mental health, and these are proudly sponsored by local company, Anderton.
The kit will be used to help raise awareness for #LGTB, Football Vs Homophobia and the Kick It Out campaign – all movements that the club feel very passionate about.
A donation from every shirt sold will go to all the charities involved.
A club statement reads: “As a progressive inclusive forward thinking club we feel this helps promote our values and ethos that local football clubs can give something back not only to the local community but to any worthy cause we can help in any way at all.”
The Villagers wore the kit for the first time last Saturday at Townfield Lane when they hosted Golcar United in the FA Vase.
