A 26-YEAR-OLD stole from a Northwich Co-op store three times in the space of two weeks – making off with items such as grated cheese, shampoo, brownies and chocolate trifles.
Liam Ray Williams, of no fixed abode, appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on September 14 where he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft.
The first offence dated back to August 28 of this year when Williams entered the Co-op store in Chester Road, Hartford and stole Aussie Shampoo, two bottle of milk and grated cheese.
The court heard how he returned to the same store on September 10 and stole five chocolate bars, two packets of brownies and two chocolate trifles.
The next day, on September 11, Williams stole washing tablets, Comfort and Febreeze, of a value unknown.
Chester Magistrates’ Court was told these new offences put Williams in breach of a community order.
The original order was made on May 27 for the offences of failing to surrender on April 19 and possession of a knife in a public place on January 16 of this year.
After taking this into consideration, magistrates’ conditionally discharged Williams for 12 months.
But, he will need to pay compensation of £47 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £26.
