PEOPLE in Wincham are frustrated that their pleas for a speed limit reduction in the village are going unheard.
Traffic is allowed to travel past Wincham Community Primary School in Church Street at 40mph, but parents believe this is much too fast.
They have now joined forces and sent a letter to Cheshire County Council via Wincham Parish Councillor Annie Makepeace, asking for the limit to be brought down.
Clr Makepeace said: "The residents want it reduced to 30 at most, and twenty is plenty' is preferred. They have been asking for this for years.
"They don't want reasons why not, they want action. I have written to various county councillors - maybe I chose the wrong ones - and no results.
"I believe the people are the authority. They are being misrepresented by those whom they pay to act on their behalf if their wishes - unanimous in this case - are silenced by reference to policy and conformity."
