Entrepreneurs are most welcome here COSGROVE Business Park in Anderton, Northwich, is home to more than 40 thriving businesses as diverse as seahorse specialists, motorcycle servicing and window blind manufacturing.

It is also the base for the head office of Cosgrove Building and Civil Engineering which has contracts throughout the country.

The light industrial estate was built seven years ago on what was a field in Daisy Bank Lane and is owned and managed by John Cosgrove and his wife Mary.

The wide variety of entrepreneurs appreciate the facilities and surroundings so much that not one of them has ever left after taking a unit on the site.

Mr Cosgrove said: "Companies like the park because it is a nice area to work in, near the river, everything is new, our rents are reasonable, we are flexible with our leases and there is easy access to the M56 and M6 motorways."

The development has been so successful that eight additional units have been built and will be ready for occupation within a month, bringing the total to 50.

Among the enterprises found on Cosgrove Business Park is PH Blinds owned by John and Val Poole who became tenants four years ago after running their business from home for 21 years.

The expanding company, with five staff, manufactures a selection of its own blinds as well as buying in other blinds from high quality suppliers.

At Printer Maintenance there are six warehouses full of all kinds of printers which are sold to customers around the globe including Nigeria, Switzerland, Malaysia and Egypt.

The company is owned by James Carter who employs 15 people. It supplies clients with new and seconduser printers and peripherals and does in-house repairs.

Anderton MOT Centre, a relative newcomer to the park, tests cars and small commercial vehicles.

Two mechanics also repair and service vehicles as well as fitting tyres.

The firm is run by partners Helen Lynch and Stephen Lockett.

Seahorses and other exotic species of fish are supplied by Simply Seahorses which moved to the park 13 weeks ago.The company dispatches fish imported from Australia, America and Canada to UK Sealife Centres, private aquariums as well as the Blue Planet.

There are also individual customers who must first prove to the company that their salt water environment is of a high enough standard for their fish.

Soothill Motorcycles is a one-stop motorcycle shop for servicing, repairs and accessories. Customers come from as far afield as the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and London for parts and accessories.

The business is owned by Mike Moores and Gareth Williams who have been on the site for 18 months. They will shortly be opening a new MOT bay.

As the name implies at Roger Moore Bespoke Kitchens they make handmade kitchen cupboards, units, drawers and worktops with not a flatpack in sight.

The most popular wood is tulipwood with granite or oak worktops although there are many alternatives to these materials. Owner Roger Moore moved onto the park three years ago after working from stables in Norley.

Dipping and Stripping are specialists in French polishing, furniture restoration and stripping old paint from doors, furniture, car parts, metals and many more items.

The business, run by Peter Stowell and his father Bernard, moved onto the park seven years ago from Northwich town centre.
