FOR Hannah Budden and Dale Heath their wedding day was everything they’d ever dreamed of and more.
It was a magical day filled with special memories and cherished moments.
Delamere Manor in Cuddington played host to the happy couple together with their family and friends earlier this month.
Here, Hannah and Dale, who are both 28 and live in Northwich, tell us their wedding story, in their own words.
When and how did you meet?
Hannah: We met in 2012 at Nectars Wine Bar in Lostock on a night out with friends. There was an instant spark, but we didn’t see each other again until late 2014. We became official in January 2015!
What did you think of each other when you first met?
Hannah: I thought Dale was good looking and had a great sense of humour.
Dale: I thought she had a great personality and was stunning.
Where and when did you get engaged?
Dale: At home on February 22, 2020
How did one of you propose?
Hannah: Dale took me out for a meal at the Hayhurst Arms in Bostock where we are regulars, so Hannah had no clue that both their mums and Dale’s sister were decorating the house for a romantic proposal. Dale was very nervous!
What was the date of the wedding and reception?
Dale: We got married on Thursday, September 8.
What was the location of the wedding and reception?
Dale: We got married at Delamere Manor in Cuddington.
How were you feeling on the morning of your wedding?
Hannah: I was surprisingly the calmest one in the room and excited to see my groom. I just couldn’t wait to marry my best friend.
Dale: I was extremely nervous but excited to become husband and wife.
How would you describe your wedding?
Hannah: It was everything we dreamed of and more.
How many guests did you have?
Dale: We had 66 guests in the day and 113 in the evening.
What did your guests eat?
Dale: Our starter was cauliflower tacos, main was chicken breast stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and herbs and then dessert was a trio of lemon cheesecake, chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding.
Did you have a first dance?
Hannah: Yours (the wedding version) by Russel Dickerson, as the words describe us and our relationship, and how we feel about each other.
Did you have speeches?
Hannah: Altogether we had four speeches – the groom, best man, my auntie and my own. They were very emotional with a bit of humour thrown in.
What are your favourite memories of the day?
Hannah: It was the moment I saw Dale at the end of the aisle.
Dale: Seeing Hannah walk into the room - all I could say was “wow”.
Tell us a little bit about your outfits on the day?
Hannah: Dale and his best man (his dad) wore the same suit which was air force blue and the groomsmen wore royal blue suits, so the guests could tell the groom from the other men in the wedding party because some guest hadn’t met Dale until the day. My dress was the first dress I tried on and I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on. It felt like it was made for me. Our colour scheme was pale blue and pink with lots of hydrangeas.
Are you going on honeymoon?
Hannah: We had a few days in the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester. However, we are planning to go to Malta next year for the honeymoon.
Please tell us a little bit about the things you have in common.
Hannah: We are both real foodies and love nothing more than trying new food and drink. We also enjoy watching films and going on walks out in the fresh air.
Why do you love each other?
Hannah: We love each other’s kind and caring nature and our sense of humour. We never stop laughing.
Why did you want to get married?
Hannah: To us, marriage is the ultimate commitment. Promising ourselves to each other for life means a great deal to both of us.
