IT will be a lot quieter in the memorial hall - after sound absorbing tiles were installed.
Users had complained there was too much echo in the main hall.
The trustees applied to the Lottery Awards for All, for a grant to install sound absorbing tiles.
Hall chairman Jeff Grey said: "We were pleased to receive an award from A4A to do this work of £3770.
"We have now fitted sound absorbent tiles to the hall ceiling."
Maintenance manager JohnTurnbull said: "We hope that the improvement to the sound quality benefits every one especially those hard of hearing where the echo caused difficulty with hearing aids.
" We hope our users can hear the vast improvement to the acoustics."
Meanwhile the trustees would like to hear from people interested in working as a clerk helping to make the hall a place to "meet and greet".
Hours to by agreement for two hours a day.
