Roberts Bakery celebrates winning the regional brass band competition
ROBERTS Bakery Band is celebrating after becoming First Section champions at the North West Regional Brass Band Championships in Blackpool last weekend.
The band finished two clear points ahead of Blackburn and Darwin and will go on to compete in the national finals in Harrogate in September.
All the bands in the first section played the same test piece of music, the classic James Cook Circumnavigator, by Gilbert Vinter, and the band's musical director Colin Cranson also received the trophy for the best conductor.
