FUNDS raised from this year's returning Darnhall Show have been donated to help with prostate cancer research.

The popular event took place in Winsford earlier this summer as families enjoyed a host of activities in the glorious weather

From vintage tractors and classic cars to dance performances and dog training demonstrations, there was something for everyone.

Now show secretary Sue Langley has announced, following its success, £500 from the profits made will be donated to charity.

This year's chosen charity Prostate Cancer UK is a cause close to Sue's heart after her husband Richard was diagnosed with the disease just week's before the show took place.

Sue said: "We are very pleased to support the charity in this small way and hope that it will help with their research in finding prostate cancer sooner.

"Our thanks go to Phil Tearle who came out to collect the cheque from the Prostate Cancer charity.

"Huge thanks to everyone who attended the show, helped on the gate, helped to park the cars, had a stall, entertained us or came with a tractor or a car and helped set up the show and take it all down after."

Sue added a further donation of money will be made the Darnhall Village Hall later in the year to buy something for the hall.
