A MAN and a woman have been hit with £460 court bills after they were caught using televisions without a TV licence.
The cases of Melanie Green, of Bramhalls Park, Anderton, and Guy Ashton, of Hayhurst Avenue, Middlewich, were heard at Warrington Magistrates Court on August 31.
The pair, who failed to purchase a TV licence costing £159, had their cases proved in their absence.
Green, aged 40, was caught between December 6 and December 22 last year, while 32-year-old Ashton was caught on or around January 10, 2022.
Magistrates fined the pair £220 each for the offence and ordered them to each pay £205 in court costs and a £34 surcharge.
Ashton and Green were given until September 28, 2022, to to pay the full balance of £459.
