A MAN is to stand trial accused of conning a woman out of almost £22,000 by pretending to work for Santander.
Constantin-Florin Moisa, 24, formerly of Northwich, will appear in Chester Crown Court on September 26 charged with fraud and possession of criminal property.
On August 29, Warrington Magistrates’ Court heard how Moisa – now of Central Park Road, East Ham, London – is suspected to have stolen £21,966 from a woman in Northwich by claiming to work for the high street bank.
The incident is said to have happened on June 28, 2021.
More than a year later, on August 27 of this year, Moisa was allegedly found with £4,000 in cash, bank cards, bank details and nine mobile phones in the Plaistow area of London.
Due to the seriousness of the charges, the case was sent to the crown court for a trial.
