A WOMAN who stole more than £200 of alcohol from Asda in Northwich was found with a magnetic security de-tagger.
Polly Garner, of Nicholas Avenue in Rudheath, appeared in Warrington Magistrates’ Court on August 17 charged with two counts of theft and going equipped for theft.
The 35-year-old stole alcohol worth £125 from an Asda store on June 29.
A week later, on July 4, Garner stole another £80 worth of alcohol from Asda.
On this occasion she was found with a magnetic security de-tagger, ‘for use in the course of committing theft of alcohol from shops’.
Garner pleaded guilty to the offences during her court hearing and was required to pay £125 in compensation and complete up to 10 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement.
She was also fined £100.
Magistrates took Garner’s guilty plea into account when imposing sentence.
They ordered her to pay court costs of £85 and a £95 surcharge.
