WITH inflation hitting double figures this week – the highest it has been for more than 40 years – petrol prices have at least seen another fall.
Since the wholesale cost of fuel dropped to its lowest level in months several weeks ago, pump prices have gradually started to come down too.
Across our patch in Cheshire, the cheapest place to fill your tank is now 18p per litre cheaper than it was this time last month.
Nationwide, the average cost per litre for unleaded is 174.9p - meaning prices on our patch are cheaper – with prices not seen on forecourts since back in June.
While diesel remains more expensive and is not being reduced to the same extent, prices on our patch are once again below the national average.
