THERE is a long list of summer activities taking place in Blakemere Village over the next couple of weeks.
With the school holidays in full swing, the family-fun site is likely to prove popular with families. It is home to unique collection of independent shops and eateries and also offers a wide-range of outdoor activities guaranteed to occupy children of all ages – whatever the weather.
A spokesman for the village said there was plenty of new activities and things to do this year.
“Blakemere is brimming with exciting activities to entertain the whole family this summer,” they said.
“From the adventurous to the creative - there is always something new to try.
With both indoor and outdoor experiences available, you can spend the entire day having fun right here.”
Many of the activities – including craft workshops, crazy golf, cycling, a nature trail and newly opened playground – can be booked on the day.
Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Blakemere makes an ideal base for walkers and cyclists to explore the area. Bike hire is available onsite through Cheshire Bike Hire – who have one for all sizes – and even have trailers and baby seats available.
It is also within easy reach of the six-mile, traffic-free Whitegate Way that connects Cuddington to Winsford, and the adjacent Weaver Parkway. The Oakmere Way that links the Whitegate Way to Delamere Forest also passes close by and suits mountain bikers and more experienced cyclists.
The spokesman added: “Walkers and cyclists can fuel up at the start of the day with a hearty breakfast at The Village Restaurant and reward themselves with a well-earned sundowner in the evening at the Wee Howff - Blakemere’s on-site micro-pub.
“Not forgetting the entire site is extremely dog friendly with Ginger and Browns offering a range of locally sourced pet products, including doggy pick-n-mix, ice cream, and even paw-secco.”
Other tasty treats on offer at the site include those being served at The Blakemere Social, which is open daily throughout the summer, offering wood-fired pizza, fish and chips and doughnuts from the street food stands, as well perfectly-poured cocktails served under the heated tepee.
Blakemere Village is open daily between 10am-5pm with the social open until 10pm on Thursday and Friday and 11pm on Saturdays.
