A GYMNASTICS school could have a future star of trampolining on their hands.
Northwich 11-year-old Caelan Haydon, who has just finished his studies at St Bedes Catholic Primary School in Weaverham, has earned himself a place at the British Championships later this year.
He did so by achieving the qualifying score at the national age group championships, where he was joined by clubmates from Warrington's Urban School of Gymnastics – Summer Wend, Rielly Hayes, Aimee McCaffrey and Jake Parkinson.
Coach Lauren Hall said: “Caelan is a very determined, hard-working lad and I am immensely proud of all his achievements in such a short time.”
The club opened just before the coronavirus pandemic hit but since reopening, members have achieved plenty of success at local, regional and national level.
“It is amazing to see how the club has grown across all disciplines in such a short time,” owner Christina Duckers said.
“The club opened just before lockdown and since being back we have gone from strength to strength, but I could never have imagined that this year we would be supporting a member of the club at the British Championships.”
