A NORTHWICH man who stole painkillers, bottles of booze and doughnuts from a supermarket has been given a community order.
Lee Dunne, of Victoria Road, was also twice found in possession of quantities of cocaine and heroin and entered guilty pleas when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 4.
The 30-year-old must stay at the same address for the next six months and also provide samples as part of a drug and alcohol treatment programme.
Dunne carried out the thefts of goods from Asda in Barons Quay on July 1, with the items totalling £30.
However, it was on two separate occasions when he was found to be in possession of the class A drugs. He was found with cocaine and heroin on April 16 and then just four days later, was found with the same drugs again.
Having pleaded guilty to all five charges, magistrates decided to make Dunne the subject of a 12-month long community order.
There are several elements to that order including a requirement he remains at the same address to restrict his whereabouts. He must also provide samples over a six-month period and participate in 20 days of a rehabilitation requirement with the probation service.
The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
