BEAUTIFUL, knitted flower displays are brightening up Northwich as part of Northwich in Bloom 2022.
The colourful displays in Northwich can be seen at St Helen’s Church and also at Riverside Park, Barons Quay, in the town centre.
Residents are invited to St Helen's Church today, Saturday, from 10am until 12 noon to view the flowers and enjoy homemade refreshments on offer.
There will be no charge and all donations go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Posting on social media, the church explained the idea behind the brilliant displays.
They said: “The idea first came from Hazel, a customer at Crafty Stitches who had a newspaper article about a church who had covered their tower in flowers.
“Louise Hough from Crafty Stitches contacted Julian Williams to discuss whether this could be done at St Helen’s Church.
“The project took shape with lots of people becoming involved in many ways.
“The beautiful display would not have been possible without the help and support of lots of people.
“The netting was prepared, and all the flowers were individually attached to the displays.
“Over many weeks, with a lot of time and effort, it was fantastic to see this amazing vision coming to life.”
Special thanks go to St Helen’s Knit and Natter Group, Louise Hough from Crafty Stitches, Northwich BID team, Whiteshaws DIY, Church Walk School, T&G Builders Merchants and Northwich Town Council.
