A BANNED driver has been brought back to court after riding an electric scooter in Northwich.
Jamil Shockness-Brown had previously been disqualified from driving, but was spotted riding an electric scooter along Winnington Lane on June 19.
Although the 23-year-old was not driving a vehicle, this is still classed as ‘driving whilst disqualified’.
Shockness-Brown, of Sandeman Crescent in Northwich, appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on August 2 where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He also admitted using the electric scooter without an insurance policy in place.
Shockness-Brown was fined £180 for the offences and his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
He must also pay court costs of £85 and a £72 surcharge.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into account when imposing sentence.
