A MAN has died after his car came off the road and came to rest in a hedge.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, rushed to the scene in Middlewich Road, Holmes Chapel, at around 3.25pm yesterday (August 2) following reports of a one-vehicle collision.
On arrival, police officers found a Grey Toyota Aygo, travelling towards Holmes Chapel, collided with foliage near the junction with Bank Farm Grove.
Despite the best efforts of members of the public and paramedics, the driver - a 54-year-old Wilmslow man - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cheshire Police are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage as the incident is investigated.
A spokesman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Holmes Chapel.
"At around 3.25pm on Tuesday 2 August, police were called to reports of a one vehicle collision on the B5308 Middlewich Road, near to the junction of Bank Farm Grove.
"On arrival officers found that a Grey Toyota Aygo, traveling towards Holmes Chapel, had come off the road and collided with foliage.
"Sadly, the driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old man from Wilmslow, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
"Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation."
