A SHOPPING trolly was stuffed with paper before deliberately set on fire in Northwich on Saturday night (July 30).
Firefighters from the town were sent to the scene shortly after 9pm after reports of a fire on Leicester Street.
When they arrived at the scene, the crew found the burning shopping trolley and managed to extinguish it using a water backpack.
Due to the obvious deliberate nature of the fire, the crew notified the police.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Paper had been stuffed into a shopping trolley and set alight in what is believed to be deliberate fire-setting.
“Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish the flames and informed police of the fire.”
