THE passenger in a pink Ford Mustang carrying more than £250,000 worth of drugs along the M6 has been jailed for almost six years.
Robert Dalton was travelling in the distinctive vehicle when it was stopped by police between junctions 18 and 19 near Knutsford on October 21 last year.
Officers from Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit searched the vehicle and discovered a large quantity of MDMA tablets with an estimated street value of between £250,000 and £500,000.
Dalton, now 39, was arrested, along with the driver of the vehicle.
He denied charges of possession with intent and conspiring to supply class A drugs.
However, when he appeared in Chester Crown Court earlier this year, he admitted to a lesser charge of being concerned in the offer to supply the drugs.
Appearing back in court on Tuesday (July 26), Dalton, of Old Road West in Gravesend, was served a 70-month sentence for his involvement.
He’ll also need to pay a £190 surcharge.
Emily Phillips, of St Georges Road in Swanley, was behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang when it was stopped by police.
The 32-year-old was arrested and has already pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A and driving dangerously.
She will next appear at Chester Crown Court on August 26.
