A BANNED driver has appeared back in court after taking cannabis and getting behind the wheel in Northwich.
Aaron Jaffrey, of Parkfield Road, Northwich, was already disqualified when he was caught in the driver’s seat of a VW Polo travelling along Middlewich Road on May 20.
The 24-year-old was also found with a controlled drug – a cannabinoid – in his system above the specific limit and he no insurance policy in place.
Tests revealed he had in excess of 2.8ug/l in his blood. The legal limit is 2ug/l.
Appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 22, Jaffrey was handed a community order containing an electrically monitored curfew.
This will be in place for 14 weeks and is active between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
He was also disqualified from driving for a further 20 months and must pay court costs of £85 and a £95 surcharge.
Magistrates took Jaffrey’s guilty plea into account.
