A 45-YEAR-OLD man from Northwich has been fined just £10 by the courts for drunk and disorderly behaviour in the town centre.
Alex Pearce appeared in Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 22, after pleading guilty to multiple offences, including resisting a constable, possession of class B drugs and drunk and disorderly behaviour.
Pearce - who resides in a narrowboat moored up at Lift Lane near the Anderton Boat Lift - committed each offence on July 2.
The court heard he was guilty, while drunk, of disorderly behaviour in Dane Street, and also resisted a constable in the execution of his duty and was in possession of a small snap bag of cannabis.
Magistrates were told these offences put him in breach of a 12-month conditional discharge order imposed on January 4 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Taking Pearce’s guilty plea into account, magistrates fined him £10 for the drunk and disorderly behaviour, and a further £10 for the breach.
For resisting a constable and the possession of cannabis, he was fined £40 for each offence.
The court also ordered Pearce to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This brings the total owed to the court to £219.
