A FOOTWAY is being laid to make walking along a Kingsmead road safer.
The path will stretch for 150m along the north side of the A533 Kingsmead spine road from the obelisk to London Road.
The £10,500 scheme, funded by Cheshire County Council, is expected to take three weeks to complete.
Northwich county councillor Danny Maguire said: "The pathway will fill in a gap and will allow easier access to Lavister Close, Stretton Walk and Rowton Close off Kingsmead as well as helping pupils walk to and from schools."
A lane of east-bound traffic will close from 9.30am to 4pm during the work.
