THE summer holidays are here and children have left their classrooms and waved goodbye to their teachers for the final time this term.
With a mix of summer weather on the way, come rain or shine, youngsters will need entertaining over the next six weeks, whether it’s a trip to the park, a children’s play centre or a sweet treat.
So where is Best for Children in Cheshire?
We launched our Best of 2022 competition in April and we’ve found the best places that the local area has to offer in a dozen categories.
We’ve crowned the champions of hair, nails, beauty, pubs, fitness and independent shops as well as pies, fish and chips, breakfast, afternoon tea, pizza and roast dinner with voting for the town’s best beer garden taking place earlier this week.
Next up we wanted to find out your favourite place to take children.
After reading all your nominations, we’ve shortlisted the top six, who will battle it out to be named Best for Children in Cheshire.
Now we need your help to choose an overall winner from our shortlist.
There are three ways to vote:
1. Search for the Best Of post on our Northwich Guardian, Knutsford Guardian or Winsford and Middlewich Guardian Facebook pages and comment under the post with the name of your winner = 1 vote
2. Name your favourite in the comments section on this article via our website = 2 votes
3. Purchase a copy of this week’s Northwich Guardian, Knutsford Guardian or Winsford and Middlewich Guardian (July 28 edition) and fill in the entry form = 5 votes

Voting officially opens today, Thursday, and closes at midnight on Monday and we will be announcing the winner next week.

Weaver Hall Museum and Lion Saltworks
Housed in the old Northwich Union Workhouse, Weaver Hall Museum explores the hidden heritage of the mid Cheshire area from archaeological treasures through industrial past to today’s vibrant community.

Marbury Park
With lots of family-friendly events planned throughout the summer – like bug hunting and pond dipping - there is plenty to keep the children entertained.

Anderton Boat Lift, Lift Lane, Northwich
This wonder of the waterways is the perfect family day out.
One happy visitor said: “We visited with two toddlers and they loved the play area, exploring the gardens and seeing the boat lift.
“They also enjoyed seeing the water and surrounding areas.
A refreshing place to visit that is well looked after.
“All of us left happy and saying we will come back here again - that is all you need sometimes.”

Tatton Park, Knutsford
There are a whole host of events planned at Tatton Park for children over the next two months.
There’s a princess party pop up festival tomorrow, Friday, as well as a back to the 90s show and visitors can always enjoy a historical tour of the old hall and gardens.
