TWO teenage pedestrians have been seriously injured after they were hit by a car near Arley.
A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman were taken to hospital after they were struck by a Mercedes at around 11.30pm on Saturday, July 16. The car also hit a third pedestrian in the Stonegate Lane area of Aston By Budworth.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving but has since been released while police continue their investigation.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 11.30pm on Saturday 16 July, police were called to reports of a collision involving a grey Mercedes-Benz A Class and three pedestrians in the Stonegate Lane area of Aston By Budworth.
“Officers attended and arrested the driver of the Mercedes, a 27-year-old man, on suspicion of drink driving.
“He has since been released under investigation.
“A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and were subsequently taken to hospital.
“Enquiries in relation to this incident are currently underway.”
