A MUCH-LOVED summer event is making a comeback.
Davenham Village Carnival is returning after two years.
The celebration will be held on Saturday, July 16 on Butchers Stile Field, off Mount Pleasant Road.
Grace Williams will be crowned carnival queen, Misty Margerum is fairy queen and Eva Atherton is the jubilee princess.

The event starts with a procession leaving the Bulls Head pub at 12.30pm.
Bev Pasquill, one of the carnival organisers, said: “We are just thrilled that Davenham Village Carnival is back, after having to cancel for two years due to Covid.
“We are praying for sunshine and that everyone in the village has a great day.”
Circus Sensible will be one of the special attractions, providing a circus skills workshop and show.
Conundrums, Hartford School of Gymnastics and Quicksteps will also be performing.
Inflatables, donkeys, a coconut shy, penalty shootout, tombola and craft stalls promise to provide entertainment to suit everyone.
Refreshments will be available.
Programmes are now on sale in the village priced £3 and admit two adults.
Gate admission is £2.50 adults, £1 children aged three to 16 and concessions.
Under threes go free.
