THERE was a heavy police presence in Northwich earlier this week after reports a ‘shot’ had been fired inside a house.
At around 11pm on Monday, June 27, officers, a firearms unit and a police helicopter were called to reports that a firearm had been discharged inside an address in Hickson Street, Barnton.
But this was proved not to be the case and a woman was taken to hospital after concerns for her wellbeing.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Local officers, supported by the firearms unit and the police helicopter attended the scene.
“Following enquiries, it was found that no firearms had been discharged and there were no injuries.
“A woman from the address was taken to the Countess of Chester due to concerns of her wellbeing.”
