A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after suffering a suspected medical episode while driving through Hartford.
Emergency services were called to Beach Road at around 10.30am this morning, Monday, after a car collided with railings near Hartford Methodist Church.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area while a 65-year-old woman was removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital.
Cheshire Police said the incident involved a black Peugeot 3008.
A spokesperson confirmed: “The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for further checks.”
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “Crews were called to an incident involving a single saloon car in collision with a barrier.
“They provided initial care to the driver, who is thought to have experienced a medical episode, then stabilised the vehicle while North West Ambulance Service removed the casualty from the vehicle.”
