CHILDREN at Wincham Community Primary School celebrated their grandparents.
Grandmas and grandads were invited to the Church Street school on Wednesday to enjoy a traditional lunch with their grandchildren.
More than 60 grandparents joined the children and tucked into roast dinners and cheese pie - one of the firm favourites of the older generation in their school days.
Headteacher Diane Palin said the school has changed so much from the old days that it was nice to give grandparents a look at how things work now.
She said: "They are so interested in their grandchildren and really want to know what is going on in the school so we thought it would be nice to give them that chance.
"There was a lovely atmosphere, we played music in the background and all the families sat chatting happily together. We have had such good feedback from the day."
The celebrations continued with a special assembly on Friday with a Grandparents' theme. Readings, poems and songs were performed by each class.
