RUDHEATH High School has launched a new learning path for its students.
The creative and media diploma was launched last month, and will give pupils the chance to combine theoretical study with practical experience.
The two-year course is part of a national programme to provide young people with more options to encourage them to continue learning for longer.
A spokesman for the school explained the reasoning behind the diploma.
He said: "Students studying the Creative and Media Diploma will learn how to think, question, explore, create and communicate and will help them master the processes common to all creative industries."
Students are to be introduced to a range of creative disciplines including 2D and 3D visual art, textiles, drama, dance and music.
Other creative disciplines on offer will be interactive media, creative ICT processes, audio and radio, film and TV.
Those who successfully complete all aspects of the diploma will gain the equivalent of seven GCSEs at Grades A to C.
