FRIENDS teamed up to host a Platinum Jubilee celebration and raised £700 for St Luke’s Hospice.

Kerry Yardley, 53, invited family and friends to her garden in West Avenue, Northwich on Saturday.

The mum-of-two organised the fundraising event with Tracey Egan, who lives in the same street.

The donation will help the Winsford-based hospice support people living with life-limiting illnesses across mid and south Cheshire.

Daughter Steph, 27, said: “My mum and Tracey have done amazingly well.

“They held bingo and had lots of fun and games.

“We had an amazing time as a family, spending quality time together.”

Guests were invited to pose with a life-sized cardboard cut out of the Queen and her corgi for a donation.

Kind hearted businesses provided prizes for a charity raffle.

It was the first time gran Kerry, who works as a cleaner at Gadbrook Park, has organised a fundraising event.

“Because of Covid, mum wanted to do an event for local charity, St Luke’s Hospice,” said Steph, who has a sister Shannen, 20.

“We’re a close knit family and we’re really proud of mum. She has worked hard to make this such a success.”
