DRIVERS of electric cars will soon be able to charge their vehicles at a McDonald's in Northwich.
InstaVolt Ltd have applied for planning permission to install two electric vehicle charging points within the car park at the Manchester Road restaurant.
The proposal would see three current car parking spaces converted into charging bays, resulting in the loss of one space.
Now, after a Cheshire West and Chester Council planning officer recommended the plans be approved, permission has now been granted.
In his report, the officer said: "The proposal would provide a sustainability benefit, which in this instance would outweigh any visual, residential or highway safety impacts.
"As such the proposal is recommended for approval."
According to the application form, installation of the charging points should take about a week to complete
And following the approval decision on May 24, work can now begin on the scheme.
