HARTFORD residents have pulled out all the stops to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with some spectacular scarecrows and bunting.
Today, Thursday, the Hartford scarecrow competition began, kicking a weekend of celebrations off to a great start.
The theme for the scarecrows was open, but 1950s ideas were encouraged.
At 7pm, there will be a special bell ringing at St John’s Church, followed by a platinum praise evening at 7.30pm and the beacon lighting at 9.45pm.
There will be a barbecue at the church on June 5, but pre-booking was essential.
Paula Manley, organiser for the scarecrow trail, shared some great photographs of the village's efforts with us.
