A NORTHWICH man has been jailed after he threatened to burn down a woman’s home.
Cauley Stewart, of Beaufort Close in Hartford, was sent behind bars for 12 months after he admitted to making the threats and also harassing another woman.
The 25-year-old sent threatening and abusive messages to his victim between April 17 and May 1 this year.
Stewart also made voice calls to his victim which he knew would cause her to feel violence would be used against her.
He was appearing at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, May 31, where he pleaded guilty to both counts – one of harassment and one of threatening destroy property.
It was also on April 17, that he made threats against another person, telling them how he was going to burn their house down.
Recorder Peter Horgan told Stewart he will serve 10 months for harassment and two months for making threats to destroy property, which will be served consecutively.
As well as sending him to prison for a year, Recorder Horgan, also made Stewart the subject of an indefinite restraining order.
