WINNINGTON Park Rugby Club women's and girls' section held its end of season celebration and awards evening at the Burrows Hill Club.
There was plenty to celebrate with age groups under 13s, under15s and under18s represented, with awards in each age band for most improved player, players' player and coach's player of the year.
Award winners:
Under 13s: Players' player Niamh Whittaker; most improved players Ruby Petty and Niamh Hickinson; coach's player Rachael Phillips.
Under 15s: Players' player Tia Randle, most improved player Freya Stamper-Clark, coach's player Maddie Dodd.
Under 18s: Players' player Cassie Rushe; most improved player Ruby Phoenix; coach's player Christine Dutton.
All awarded players received a trophy to take away, while in addition the coach's player winners have their names engraved on a trophy to be awarded annually and displayed at the club.
The girls were presented with new match shirts for the coming season by coach Zoe Dumbell, bearing the “Our Missing Peace” logo.
This is a charity supporting families who have lost children.
The girls will now be enjoying their summer break while continuing with strength and fitness training on Wednesday nights before returning to full training and match play in September.
Anyone wanting to try rugby union should contact the club directly and you will be made welcome.
