A 21-YEAR-OLD who escaped from prison while serving four years for an attempted robbery in Rudheath has had eight months added onto his sentence.
Jack Joynson, previously of Middlewich Road but now residing in HMP Altcourse, absconded from HMP Kirkham on April 18 and police appealed to the public for help in locating him - saying not to approach him as he 'could be violent'.
Joynson was originally sentenced in 2020 for attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The charges related to an incident at a Post Office in Wright Avenue in June of that year.
Nothing was stolen during the incident, but a Post Office worker sustained a minor injury to his arm.
Appearing in Chester Crown Court on May 23, Joynson pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody.
An extra eight months were added to his existing prison sentence and he will have to pay a surcharge of £156.
