A DRIVER has been injured and two vehicles damaged after reports of youths throwing bricks and rocks off bridges across the north west’s motorway network.
North West Motorway Police dealt with separate 10 incidents over the weekend involving children and teenagers throwing bricks from motorway bridges – with one injuring a driver as it smashed through the windscreen.
Posting on social media, the force said another two vehicles were damaged during the spate of offending.
North West Motorway Police posted on Twitter: “Over this weekend alone, we have had 10 incidents involving children and teenagers on the network, climbing the signs and actually throwing bricks from bridges, injuring a driver as one went through a windscreen.
“This is not acceptable – parents, do you know where your children are?”
The force added: “Another two vehicles damaged, and the occupants of the vehicles covered in glass.
“We will deal accordingly if the youths are found.”
